There are 36 new cases in the Atlantic Bubble today, 8 in NS, 23 in NB, 5 in NFLD; NS reports 3 recoveries, as does NB. Ontario numbers are updated. All eight new cases in NS are in Central Zone. Two are connected to previously reported cases; six are under investigation. 16 of the new cases in NB are in zone 2 (St John), 6 in zone 1 (Moncton) and 1 in zone 3 (Fredericton). All 5 cases in NFLD are close contacts of previously reported cases. This means there is 1 active case in PEI, 33 in NS, 71 in NB and 18 in NFLD, none known to be related to the Atlantic Bubble itself. In NS, 53/65 (82%) NS deaths are from Northwood and 57/65 (88%) are from long term care in general (11 different facilities have reported cases, none have an active case). Yesterday, 1384 tests were completed with 8 new cases reported.

From the Press Release:
“These increasing case numbers tell us we need to follow public health protocols to get back on track, especially in the greater Halifax area,” said Premier Stephen McNeil. “We have restrictions and guidelines in place to protect the health of fellow Nova Scotians - limit social contacts, practice social distancing, wear a mask and wash your hands.”

"This is the single largest jump in COVID-19 cases we have seen in our province in recent months,” said Dr. Robert Strang, Nova Scotia’s chief medical officer of health. “It is critical that we all do our part to prevent and reduce the spread of COVID-19.”
